Miss.
Maheswary Velautham, Attorney- At –Law has been involved in Human Rights
and Humanitarian works in Sri Lanka and abroad for nearly 23 years. Being
the Secretary of a refugee organization, she had set up a number of
medical centres to cater to the needs of the refugees in Madurai, Trichi,
Mandapam and Rameswaram camps in India. She was involved in many other
programmes for the improvement of the conditions of refugees in India. She
is a practicing human rights lawyer in the Courts of Sri Lanka.
